Pulsar Blue is Europa Tool's dedicated range of carbide cutters designed for machining hardened steels (typically materials hardened up to 55-65 HRC). The range uses a specialised carbide substrate and advanced multi-layer PVD coating that provides high hot hardness, thermal stability and wear resistance, allowing the cutters to maintain edge integrity at the elevated temperatures generated when machining hard materials. Pulsar Blue tools are used for finishing and semi-finishing operations on hardened mould and die steels and are available in end mill , ball-nosed & corner-radius profiles with a selection of flute counts and geometries.

What Is the Alu-XP Range?

Alu-XP is Europa Tool's range of carbide cutters specifically engineered for high-speed machining of aluminium and other non-ferrous metals. The tools feature mirror-polished flutes that prevent aluminium from sticking to the cutting edge (built-up edge), which is the primary cause of poor surface finish and premature tool failure when machining aluminium. What Is a Variable Helix Cutter & What Are Its Benefits?

A variable helix cutter has cutting flutes with differing helix angles along its length rather than a constant helix angle. This design disrupts the frequency of cutting forces, preventing the harmonics that cause vibration and chatter during milling. The result is smoother cutting, improved surface finish, reduced tool wear and the ability to run at higher speeds and depths of cut than would be possible with a standard-geometry cutter. What Cutter Profiles Are Available?

The Europa Tool range includes four cutter profiles: Square profile cutters have a flat end and are used for facing, slotting and profiling operations Corner radius cutters have a radiused corner that strengthens the cutting edge and blends the corner, reducing the risk of chipping and improving tool life — they are the most widely stocked profile Ball-nose cutters have a hemispherical end and are used for 3D contouring, mould and die work and profiling curved surfaces Square-with-chamfer cutters combine a flat end with a chamfered corner, providing edge protection and a chamfer in a single pass.
