Calipers are a precision measuring tool used in many forms of engineering in order to measure linear dimensions of an object such as: length, width, thickness, diameter and more.
Digital calipers display the measurement on an electronic LCD readout, allowing instant mm/inch switching as well as being easier and faster to read they are suitable for the vast majority of workshop and inspection use. Most of our range are digital calipers.
Vernier calipers read via a vernier scale graduated alongside the main scale, this requires practice to read accurately but the upside is that it has no battery dependency. Verniers are still used in some quality environments and preferred by some engineers for its simplicity and permanence.
For everyday workshop use, a digital caliper is the practical choice. For environments where electronics could be problematic (very high humidity, strong magnetic fields) a vernier remains useful caliper option.
