Straight Shank ER Collet Chucks are particularly useful for extending the reach of a lathe or milling machine. They feature a non-tapered shank for use with certain straight shank machinery.

Straight Shank ER Collet Chucks mount to the working side of a lathe spindle in the same way as a three-jaw chuck. ER Collet Chucks of this type use the machine’s existing hydraulic cylinder and drawtube for actuation. The installation of an ER Collet Chuck usually requires the fitment of an intermediate adapter between the drawtube and chuck to compensate for position and thread disparities.
